dong dong dong, kuishin-bo!
Had buffet dinner at kuishin-bo with dar, dione and sebas!
IT WAS GREAT! the sushis, sashimis, desserts are to die for! everything looked so tempting we spent 4 hours there! YES! 4 hours of non-stop eating! Unbelievable.
The funny and interesting thing about the restaurant was that they have this "dong dong dong" thingy, whereby they'll play their restaurant jingle and give out special premium food. you'll just have to pay attention to their announcement. e.g. "Kuishin-Bo, the number 1 authentic Japanese food restaurant, is giving out our premium specials. The 1st 20 customers who comes to the counter will receive Lobster with mayonnaise!" LOL. They also gave out Black pepper seafood platter, Mochi ice cream and candy floss subsequently. However, we were so full and still busy stuffing ourselves with the "normal" food that we ignored both the lobster and seafood thingy. But when they announced Mochi ice cream and candy floss, i immediately grabbed dione's hand and went to queue for them. hah. *yum* having candy floss as part of a buffet dish is quite special ya? we even got to tabao 1 "ball" of candy floss each!
1st round: (clockwise) seasoned baby octopus, some random round crab (this one not nice! weird taste..), various sushis (the scallop/hotate very fresh! i like!) and the giant alaska snow crab (1st item to catch our eyes! but super tedious to eat and soso only la..)
2nd round: the paper steamboat! the soup is really nice! I think I only drank the soup and ignored the rest..too full lol. we're really amazed by the paper. how come it doesn't burn? how come no soot on the underside? japanese are really great inventors ha? in case you're curious about the food in the background, there's this mini seafood claypot (the size of the claypot attracted me! so cute! about 10cm in diameter only. but too bad the soup not nice! tasted too "veggie"), tempura stuff and yakitori, shark's fins soup (no shark fin one la, but the soup not bad. hee)
Sorry I forgot to take pics of the super fresh salmon sashimi and other nice stuff (esp. desserts!), was too carried away with the food and busy finding ways and means to hide the not-so-nice food so the waitress would come clear the plates lol.
In case you're wondering, we paid around $33/person for the buffet. Quite worth it i'd say, judging from the spread and quality of the food. =D
Hoping the next buffet will be at Shangrila's The Line. i wanna try the "chocolate fountain" badly! nicole @

SIM..a new chapter
life in sim has started and everything has been going quite smoothly..
- i like my timetable ALOT! (no classes on fridays! *jumps*)
- love the fact that SIM provides refreshments during breaks *yum*
- very glad that they also provide lecture notes! (no need to login to what student portal and download and print anymore *phew*)
- the lecturers are quite nice & dedicated
but i know these probably won't last very long. YES, projects (big scale, tedious ones) are coming. *hai* -_-
Before i go, a message to all:
PLS REFRAIN FROM REMOVING YOUR SHOES ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT. *disgusted*
this applies whether you're a man or female, standing or sitting, wearing socks or stockings, whether you're on a crowded mrt or quiet bus. pls be considerate. *tolong* the other commuters have done nothing wrong to deserve this. it's terribly unsightly, unhygienic, unacceptable, un-smellable, un-tahan-able, un-... in fact, no words can describe the anguish that we feel.
