bangkok getaway
have not updated for quite some time. i've been too tired to do anything. deadlines after deadlines.
15 hours later, i'll be in bangkok for a school field trip cum shopping spree trip. hope everything will turn out well and i'll be able to enjoy and rewind.
when i come back, it'll be disastrous with 3 assignments due next mon. will just forget about these temporarily. don't wanna spoil the holiday mood, though i should be there "learning", what the lecturers keep emphasizing. -_-

valentine's day
it's getting late so i'll just keep it short.
it was a very simple day for us as we were all busy to plan so everything was impromptu. i declared that i didn't want any flowers on this day cos I thought it was a waste of money and i always have problems handling their "after-life". lol. I used to press them against magazines to make dried flowers but after a few bouquets, i became lazy. so this time round, I made sure he didn't buy me any! lol. I got a toy flower instead. found it childish at 1st, but now as I look at it, it's quite cute actually. lol. we went to Plaza Sing's Secret Recipe for dinner. the queing time was pretty fast, but the waiting time of the food nearly killed us. it took them more than an hour to serve us the food! in the end, we requested that we had our desserts first as we were afraid we'll be late for the 9.30 movie. So we gobbled all our food in less than 30minutes time. lol. it would have been better if we weren't in a rush, the food was quite nice in my opinion. =D~ then we went for the movie Seoul Raiders after that. A pretty nice show, with my fave Tony Leung in it. =) We managed to catch the last train home.
Although the day was simple, I'm contented. At least it managed to ease my tension temporarily. Happy Valentine's! ;)
PS: Oh ya, in case you're wondering why we didn't exchanged presents, we've agreed to exchange it at a later date, when dar gets his 1st pay. lallalala. lol. nicole @

disgust.
i cant believe cny holidays are over. i really dread school. i hate to face the never-ending to-do lists. i cant concentrate. i'm drained. i failed to complete my e-learning assignments. there're so much more assignments, projects, deadlines to be met. everything isn't right. what's the matter with me? nicole @

Fa Cai Fa Cai!
Happy New Year! Da Jia Fa Cai! It's my favourite time of the year after Xmas. It's the time of the year when I get to catch up with my cousins, aunties, uncles, etc and relive the Chinese "Tuan Yuan" spirit. Of course, another thing to look forward to are the angbaos! Since I'm hitting 20 this year, I'm gonna cherish my last few angbao-collecting years! :D
Went to River Angbao with Dar, Ah TAB and Jessie to watch the fireworks. I really enjoyed it! It's really "Heng Mei!!" That's the 2 words TAB and me kept repeating over and over again throughout the 3 minutes. It was so so nice that we could only use "heng mei" to describe it. We were lost for words, or you could say we had limited vocab. lol. :x
We watched "I do I do" after that. I like Jack Neo's movies. Simple, good and entertaining at the same time. Could see some improvements this time round, the songs were improved slightly, better tunes though they still sounded "Cheena", and they also added some animations similar to Kungfu, albeit a little fake at times, it's good that they're trying out new things. I also like how Hui Ge was "recycled" over and over again in the movie. lol. Go watch it guys!!
Had lots of fun today, though I hated how my heels almost killed me.
Nevertheless, May the Rooster Year be a prosperous year for everyone! Have fun collecting angbaos for the remaining 14 days! ;D nicole @

tests are bad for health!
I'm so so relieved that the tests are over! for the past week, i hardly slept more than 3 hours per day. When I was supposed to catch up with my beauty sleep after the last paper yest, I had to go to AH to re-make my retainers! Apparently, the part-time maid thought it was some plastic and threw it away. As I didn't had an appointment, I waited 3 hours before they were finally able to squeeze me into the busy schedule. :( Let me describe the steps for those are interested.
1) Lie down
2) Open my mouth
3) Dentist inserts a plastic mould filled with a chewing gum-like substance and press it against my teeth to get the shape.
4) Rinse my mouth
5) Bid farewell to the dentist after she instructed me to come back again the next day to collect it.
(Note: The above steps took no more than 5 minutes)
The interesting part: It costs $77!
Waited 3 hours for 5 minutes to pay $77. *Pounds chest*
Did I go home after that? No (of course). lol. I went shopping alone at Queensway Shopping Centre & IKEA. I don't know when it started but I'm starting to enjoy shopping alone. You can go to any shop, look at anything you want, at your own pace. The funny thing is, I always attract aunties. lol. I found a couple of aunties smiling to me in IKEA. I recall one incident vividly. I was looking at the $5 wooden blinds and was deciding whether to buy or not. I finally made up my mind to get it when 1 malay auntie walking towards me smiled to me and commented, "Aiyo this stuff, $5 also no one buy lah." lol. I didn't buy it the end. What if I saw that auntie at the cashier? haha.

Woke up at 10.30 (SO EARLY for a SAT!) today as I had to collect my retainers at 12. Dad and Mom drove me there. Went to get some new yr groceries after that. We spent $80+ at the supermarket! We were so shocked dad even asked me to double check the receipt. haha.

Went home to prepare and met up with dar and sis to go town after that. Me and sis made an appointment with Hollywoods Secrets for eyebrow trimming but we were 2 hours late. So, we decided to walk-in and try our luck. However, they didn't accept walk-ins as the entire shop was packed (with ladies)! 60% doing manicure, 35% eyebrow trimming, 5% others. Everyone wants to look good for CNY. :D
Sis went to meet mum at Bugis but I chose to continue shopping at Orchard with dar. Bought 3 tops and a skirt today! Total Damage: $129. >_< I haven't been keeping to my budget lately. I need to control! No more new clothes for the next 1 month!
Met up with Ah Tab and her sis at Cine to fill our stomachs after all the shopping. Tingting noticed the GAP bag and asked if I had bought it online. I never mention anything about the bag before. She got to know it through this blog! (Weeet. At least I know I do have visitors. lol. Other silent readers please tag me! Let me have a chance to thank you for visiting! Heez.)
Okay I'll stop now. Looks like my body is starting to protest. I'm starting to have the sore throat and flu symptoms. I'd better sleep! Being sick is the last thing I want to happen on CNY!
