humpty nicole had a great fall.

went to holland v for dinner then headed to breko with my usual gang.

everything was fine until i slipped and fell on the flight of stairs (the one that leads you to the 2nd level). so embarassing! but it really hurts. if not for dar who held me from behind (thanks! :D), i guess i would have rolled down the stairs. *heng* i also wanna thank a gentleman who helped pick up my slipper, though i know he won't be able to see this. there're really kind souls around. :)

my ankle still hurts. i think i sprained it. think god's punishing me for not being hardworking enough. :x

btw, i think breko should seriously consider upgrading that flight of ulu stairs to an escalator. lol.

holiday mood

dad has gone to malaysia and sis to bangkok..i'm soooo envious! how i wish my exams were over and i can join her there. =( nevertheless, i'm feeling excited cos i gave her a list of items to look out for me when she gets there. hopefully, she'll be able to get me something i like! the suspense is kinda fun huh. lol. but, even if she doesn't get anything there, i'm already a happy girl as she's just called me from the airport telling me she's got me the stash from M.A.C duty free already. 3 eyeshadows, 1 eyeliner, 1 blusher..=D~

bon voyage to both of them! ;)

good friday

revision status: almost 0%.

oh dear, i'm left with 3 days before the 1st paper!

wanted to be a good girl last 2 days but my mom told me her friends' daughter's company at Jurong Island has a temp job vacancy. when i asked what job it was, blur mom just told me "i duno, just something to do with the computer. they're paying 1.2k." of course i thought 1.2k was little, but i still called to enquire, thinking i can skip the hassle of looking for a job after the exams.

the lady did not tell me the exact designation of the job, but from her vague task descriptions (issuing of POs, taking orders, preparing documents), i can safely say it's an admin job. then after finding out that i had some experience in the past, she asked if i could make a trip to the office the next day (which was yesterday) so that she could handover her job to me. there was little time for me to decide so i just agreed. I felt 1.2k (transport and meals provided) was not alot but enough to tide me over the 3 months while waiting to go into SIM. moreover, Jurong island, being so ulu, has no shopping centres, thereby eliminating the chances of me spending during lunch breaks.

So there i was, at jurong island yesterday, quite excited (lol) as it's my 1st time there. I'm working on an entirely reclaimed island! Also, it's a restricted place to anyone unless you're working there. The whole place looks like a typical rural part of Malaysia, with no buildings around, mainly grassland minus the cattles.

My office is on the 2nd storey of a "3-storey structure" (i duno what to call it! it's like a building built out of containers) near the sea. if you're lucky, you'll be able to view the sea from your seat. unfortunately, the view in front of my cubicle is a piece of grassland, looking somewhat deserted. lol.

after i was introduced to all the colleagues there (not many, only 6), my colleague (the lady whom i'm suppose to replace, let's call her MH) started by calling her HR dept in Pandan road. This office here at Jurong Island is merely a temporary site as they're in charge of a project here. She told the HR that i had experience (before i even started on the job lol) so i was offered 1.4k instead. haha. my highest paying job ever, although 1.4k is still considered low for a future-diploma holder. lol. =x well, humans are nv satisfied. =p Then the "training session" started, quite stressful as it's quite different from my previous jobs and there're so many things to be learnt! The tasks are not difficult, but having to know everything by 1 day is seriously, TOUGH!

when i was on the van going home talking to another colleague, she told me the previous girl who came to replace MH (she frequently takes long unpaid leaves, but i don't know why) had 1 week to learn everything from MH. *Jaws drop* 1 week! i have only a day! Moreover, i'll only be starting work a week later due to exams, I might have forgotten what I have learnt already?! Just hope nothing goes wrong then. *Prays*

Alright, revision time! sorry for the long post. :D
Those who aren't studying already, have a great long weekend! ;)

study week, lazy me

it's the 2nd day of the study week and i have not started my revision! shame on me!
i do have my reasons (or what some peeps call excuses) though:

- mon: was busy doing research on SIM. had to decide fast cos closing date of application falls on the same day as my last paper next week.
outcome: take up RMIT's BBA majoring in Marketing.

- tue: went to SIM to get application form and verify documents. then went to kim's place at tampines for dress fitting. then since i was there, did some shopping. =x

okay, i swear i'm gonna start my revision tmr. i do feel guilty. =(

fancy going to an igloo for a drink? GO EskiBar!

after seeing it being publicised in Channelnewasia, decided to patronise the bar with dar. had a hard time finding it cos i wasn't sure where it was! the only clue i got from some online forums was it's at tanjong pagar, and it's near craig road. but where on earth is craig road?! lol. After much pains and when we were going to give up, we found the place, only to know that we've missed it earlier on. haha.

And i'm glad i found it. Love the bar's concept, ambience, waitresses' uniforms, and the TEMPERATURE! The bar is divided into 2 sections; the freezing area (which can go down to -1 deg) and the not-so-cold area (normal aircon temperature). The freezing area is actually a real freezer and it's really cold! so cold that there'd be fog coming out from your mouth as you talk. Also, you wouldn't be able to feel the alcohol heating up your body as it's too cold already!

according to channelnewsasia, the lady boss came up with this freezer concept as she couldn't find any place in sunny Singapore to flaunt her winter clothings. thus, she started this bar, hoping it'll help others who encounters the same problem. interesting huh?

when we were there, the not-so-cold area was fully occupied, so we had to endure stay put at the freezing area. at that moment, they were actually defrosting (around 5 deg) so the the area wasn't at its coldest, but still, we couldn't stand it! i felt so cold i couldn't talk properly. lol. (i was wearing a spag top and jeans) fortunately for us, a group left and we took over their seats in the not-so-cold area. lol. The deco there was more cozy, white walls and furniture with dim lights - nicE! Then we ordered their signature drinks; sleeping polar bear & eski blue. I like sleeping polar bear alot! it contains kahlua, the chocolate/coffee liquer, think tiramisu. We went on to play cards. I was commenting on how they could have been able to earn more if they added finger food on their menu, when i saw the waitress serving a packet of something (obviously food) to another table. I figure they allow external orders from the tze-cha store next door and asked the waitress for the menu. We ordered prawn paste chicken! Quite shiok ah..delicious prawn paste chicken in a igloo! lol. (however, we were quite embarassed when the waitress served it to us. prawn paste is quite stinky, until u've eaten it..lol.)

after we finished the food, we decided to go to the freezing area again. this time, we borrowed jackets from them (yes, they have extras! how thoughtful!) and stayed there for a 2nd drink. i was so in love with Kahlua i asked the waitress if there was anymore chocolatey drinks. she consulted the bartender and he recommended "Screaming orgasm" (lol, interesting name) which was not in the menu. yummy!

When we finished the drinks, I suggested that we take off our jackets and endure for 10minutes! (it was around 0deg then) woah..i could feel my feet feeling numb..lol. it was really fun though. We also saw a dumb angmo walking into the bar, ordering an Evian. it costs $12! A glass of heineken costs the same there! When the waitress handed him the bill, he was like $12?! Dunno whether to laugh or feel sorry. Felt really heart-pain for him..a kopitiam was just a few steps away! Perhaps they didn't sell evian, but i believe a ice mountain there wouldn't cost more than 2 bucks! lol.

Really enjoyed myself there. it's my first time pubbing with dar alone too! the staff there are friendly, esp the bartender. however, the downside eskibar is that the drinks are quite pricey, around $12-$15 each, no cover charge though. also, they do not accept reservations as it's small, think those tiny pubs at boat quay. that explains why they are not able to serve their own finger food as they can't afford to have a kitchen due to space constraints. (good news is, they're opening a larger branch at thomson which is double the size!)

You guys should give this bar a try! Some things to take note though: avoid wearing heels! it may get stuck in btw the rubber mats (which are placed in the freezer area to prevent slipping) And wear more! Skirts are a nono. They only provide jackets, no bottoms! Best if you're able to wear your winterwear. Flaunt it! :D

bye IIP, hi exams, hi decisions

Like what my title suggests, IIP's (Integrated Infocomm Project) over! We had our final presentation today. Glad that everything went on smoothly. But before i even have a chance to heave a sigh of relief, I can see the exams waving to me. and very soon, i'll have to make BIG decisions that will affect the rest of my life - to continue studying or to start working.

It's really a tacky problem cos i'm left with private commercial schools as there's little chance any local uni would accept my b-c average grades. SIM, MDIS, what have you. Mom has been very supportive, she'll accept whichever path that I choose. So i don't wanna disappoint her by taking the wrong step.

I'm in a dilemma.

I want to work, I'm always eager to enter the real working world. I want a career! I want to be financially stable and independent! There're so much more that I want to achieve. A diploma might not be able to bring me far enough. What if I'm deprived of promotion chances just because I'm only a Diploma holder? (okay, i'm thinking too much.)

On the other hand, i dread school - assignments, projects, exams are on my #1 hate list. Entering a uni will mean another 3 yrs of commitment. But it'll provide me with a HUGE stepping stone that I desire. (though I don't know if that's the case for private degrees, anyway, are they recognised or not huh?) But Wo ke yi ma? can i be disciplined for another 3 yrs? *shrugs*

Aiyo, decisions are never easy. =(

Just sent an enquiry to SIM. Will wait for their reply before I decide on my final choice. For now, sleep time! Tomorrow will be my long awaited retail theraphy session. =D

last day of sch + sat ktv

fri was the last day of sch. knowing that i'll miss the cheap and good canteen food, meiting and me walked all the way to canteen 4 to have the best chicken chop and papaya milk for the last time. it's really nice! i'm gonna miss it!

then we went to the library to borrow a book for the mec assignment. it's my first time borrowing a book in school! fancy it being the last day of school. lol. then recalling that i've run out of contact lens, i went to the school optical shop. they didn't have stock for my degree, so they offered to do a home delivery to me. good service huh! that means i can still enjoy the dirt cheap prices even after i leave NP! then i got psychoed by the uncle to get a pair of purple lens. hai. i'm broke!

went to atrium's bazarre after that. couldn't resist the temptation to shop and i bought a pair of earrings and diamonte star necklace which i love to bits. heez.

Total damage: $45 - guilty but happy. lol. afterall, it's the last day of school right? =p

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

went to clementi's kbox today. was quite tired cos i didn't sleep last night - did the mec assignment till 1pm today (yes i slept from 2-7pm only!). the system's quite lousy, hanged several times until they had to replace the CPU. and in btw, several songs were skipped for no reason. !@#$% nevertheless, had fun with dar and yvonne. the funny thing is, when i singing "Qing ai de ni zen me bu zai wo sheng bian", i thought of carine. we haven't met for ages! the last time was during cny. hopefully will get to see her next week. heez.

alright, i need to replenish my sleep already! finally had a chance to sleep peacefully without worrying about deadlines anymore! =D

chimaomao

i've always had a phobia for cats since young because of their evil-looking eyes. however, my opinion seemed to have change since i started having dora (my pet bunny). Bunnies and cats are actually quite similar; both are meticulous groomers, keeping themselves clean all the time, and in terms of character, they're quite aloof animals (compared to dogs), and come to you only when they want attention or when they're hungry. despite this, i have developed a strong liking for them for being such adorable animals. my love for cat grew when i saw eugene's (my wisp groupmate) cat, Drizzle, when doing a group project at his home. I was really surprised when I was told that Drizzle is actually a stray cat as he had a really nice white coat and portrayed itself gracefully, even though he had an injured foot, he just look like any expensive-looking imported cats you'd see in a pet shop.

i happened to be watching channel 8's new serial "Lu Se Guo Shi" during dinner time today and the guy in the show was bidding farewell to a really tiny kitten (almost palm-size) as he was leaving the country. the kitten is so so cute! but my sis immediately interupted by saying "grow up not cute liao la". true, they'll pass their cute stage and mature to become graceful instead of cute. but i believe they exert a different kind of beauty at different stages, just like humans. (my piece of advice: don't ever own a pet because they look cute when they're young! love them for what they are, not how cute they look!)

having said that, i wonder why there isn't any dwarf-breed cats since there're chiwawa for dogs and netherland dwarves for rabbits. Or perhaps i wasn't aware of their existence. Chimaomao sounds really cute. lol.

Alright, back to work.

Deadlines
Thurs: IIP Project
Fri: ERP PBL 2
Sat: MEC Blog
Awaiting Sunday's arrival!!!

PS: Happy 1.5 yr anniversary to my dar! :D
