My first (paid) MP3!
was chatting on MSN when an ad of a digital music download store caught my attention..
i thought 99cents was pretty reasonable so i decided to give it a try!
i wouldn't consider the music there very new but i have to say that the "newness" of the songs available had surpassed my expectations. They even had Sun YanZi's latest album! The other stores i'd visited in the past probably only had songs dated back in the 1990s lol. the site was relatively easy to navigate and after a while, i chanced upon westlife's album. i'm not a fan of them but their When you tell me that you love me duet with Diana Ross is so undescribable! it's that kind of song that sets you in the mood for love..Hopelessly romantic! :D
and so i decided to purchase it and proceeded with the payment. After the processing has been done, the page automatically redirected me to the song's link. simply click and after 'bout 3 minutes..
DOWNLOAD COMPLETE!
(i know i'm such a pain in the ass but if you were to notice carefully, they left out the "t" in "with"!
*grr* that's not very professional!)
Okay I tried to ignore it because i was still feeling excited with the first purchase so I hurriedly added it to my Winamp playlist (i know some of you may argue that windows media player is better blah blah but i'm still liking my good ol' Winamp for its simple features!). I waited and waited, but the song didn't play! Then a site surfaced:
WTH? not compatible?!?
I tried Windows media player instead. This time, a popup message appeared:
-_- i was getting impatient. So click OK lah..

(argh I'm still irritated by the typo !!@%#$)
I also notice the song doesn't play immediately when it's been selected. Windows media player needs like 10 seconds to play it and in between the message "Opening media" will be flashed at the status bar. It can't be the player's problem as I have no problems with other mp3s. I wonder why.
Despite these technical imperfections, i still think that the $0.99 is reasonable considering the fact that the price of 1 CD consisting 10 songs costs $17 on rough estimates. quite wuhua la afterall. hehe.

results release
failed MR and MAB.
failing MR was expected but failing MAB was quite a shock. i put in the most effort for this paper since i didn't do well in the 2nd test, in fact i felt very confident before the exam but the paper was really tough. i knew i wouldn't do well but I didn't expect to fail. sigh.
as for the other 2 modules, was glad i passed the killer subject OE and gained distinction for MOR. I think it helped that MOR is the only module this sem to not only look at your exam grades but an overall so the project grades really helped alot.
i'm still quite calm as i've already prepared myself for the worst. but i swear i'm gonna work extra hard for my repeat modules next sem.

meanwhile, i'm gonna prepare myself for the progression interview. -_-

December, my favourite month of the year.

regarding the previous issue that was bogging me down, i've decided to perservere. it wasn't an easy decision; i went thru lots of struggling and contemplating, i'm really glad to have received many constructive comments from close friends which enabled me to think better. i think i've become a lil' more mature after this incident. hah. :x
(Special thanks to Angeline, I really valued your feedback and encouragement. You were able to understand what I was going through and gave me valuable words of wisdom even though our beliefs were completely different. *hugs*)

thanks to recruit express, i got myself a temp job in Sulzer this hols. it's a Finnish Pump manufacturing firm. I truly LOVE this co! My colleagues are super duper nice peeps! They'd not hesitate to offer me a ride to Jurong Point after work and at times when i worked overtime, they'd secretly pack dinner for me (on the company's account)! lol. And did i mention they increased my hourly rate after my 2nd day there! =D Though busy, they're never hasty when guiding me through my work. This is the first time I feel that I'm part of the company, rather than being just a temp. I'm really lucky to have met them!
everything seems to falling nicely in place during this special month of the year. lalalala. :D
